　　【双语释义】any of several large subdivisions of mankind sharing physical characteristics, eg colour of skin, colour and type of hair, shape of eyes and nose。

　　【典型范例1】They are Negro race.

　　【典型范例2】Those are people of mixed race.

　　这些人是混血儿。

　　Skeleton

　　【双语释义】If you say that someone has a skeleton in the closet, or in British English a skeleton in the cupboard, you mean that they are keeping secret a bad or embarrassing fact about themselves.

　　【典型范例】Mr Worthing is this election's Mr Nice Guy, without any skeletons in his cupboard.

　　沃辛先生是此次选举中的正派先生，本身没有任何见不得人的丑事。

　　1. 【语义表述】某人身上流淌着中国人的血。

　　【句型模板】Chinese blood runs in someone’s veins.

　　【句型操练】How are you against your country——China? Chinese blood runs in your veins.

　　你怎么能背板你的祖国，你身上流淌着中国人的血。

　　【句型出处】Norman blood runs in our veins! (我们流着诺曼人的血。)

　　2. 【语义表述】某人身体不舒服。

　　【句型模板】Somebody is not well.

　　【指点迷津】well可以表示“(身体)健康，舒服”的意思。

　　【句型模板】I am not well today. So I call for the sick.

　　我今天不舒服，所以我电话请病假了。

　　【句型出处】He"s not well!他不舒服

　　3. 【语义表述】在跳舞现场，某人原来是跳舞的，但是现在不愿意跳了。

　　【句型模板】Somebody does not dance another step.

　　【句型操练】Mary became a trifle angry at the party all of sudden and did not dance another step.

　　玛丽突然在晚会上发火了，然后就不跳舞了。

　　【句型出处】Look here, I won't dance another step. (你们要再拿他开玩笑，我就不跳了。)

　　4.【语义表述】某人开某人的玩笑。

　　【句型模板】Somebody makes a joke about somebody.

　　【句型出处】... if you continue to make jokes about him!

　　【指点迷津】make a joke是“开玩笑，挖苦，奚落”的意思，要表示“挖苦或奚落某人，对某人开玩笑”，在短语后面用介词about。

　　【句型操练】He made a joke about Mary at the ball and she took a French leave.

　　舞会上，他拿玛丽开开玩笑，玛丽因此而不辞而别。

　　【句型出处】Mary, that's enough now! (玛丽，别再闹了。)
