　　歌词：I need a saving grace A hiding place.

　　我需要神的救赎恩典 一个藏身之处。

　　Grace本身是名词表示“优美，优雅”。短语have the grace to表示“有雅量做…”，比如：

　　He might have had the grace to say he was sorry! 他本有雅量做说声抱歉的!

　　歌词中的短语saving grace是指“可以弥补缺点的优点”，举个例子来体会一下：

　　He may be stupid, but his one saving grace is his humour. 他虽说很愚蠢，但他有幽默的长处。

　　歌词：I wanna shake this winter coat off my sleeve, dust off a record and just be free.

　　我只想挣脱身上的一切束缚，抹去伤感的过去，彻底自由。

　　Sleeve是“袖子”的意思，英文中有很多短语包含sleeve，比如have sth up〔in〕 one's sleeve表示“有锦囊妙计”，比如：

　　I've got a few ideas up my sleeve if this method doesn't work.

　　如果这个方法没有用，我自有妙计。

　　Laugh up〔in〕 one's sleeve字面意思是躲在袖子里笑，其实就是指暗暗发笑、偷笑。比如：

　　Anna was laughing up her sleeve when Joe fell into the trap she set.

　　当乔上了她设的圈套后,安娜暗自高兴。

　　来回顾一下歌词：I wanna shake this winter coat off my sleeve字面意思是我想要摆脱大冬天厚厚的棉袄，喻指“我只想挣脱身上的一切束缚”;dust off a record and just be free-抹去伤感的过去，彻底获得自由。

　　歌词：When you're young You can fly. but we trip on clouds 'cause we get too high.

　　当青春年少，你会展翅高飞，翱翔云间，恣意驰骋。

　　Trip常表示“旅行”，也常指“绊倒”，比如：

　　He tried to trip me up. 他想把我绊倒。

　　He tripped on a tree root. 他被一株树根绊倒了。

　　歌词：Well the night rolls on like a long lost friend, 'til the sunrise bleeds like the bitter end.

　　黑夜像久没联络的朋友缓缓碾过，历经磨砺，曙光终于降临。

　　短语roll on字面是“向前滚动”，常表示“前进”。当你很盼望某个日子，你可以说roll on，意指“快点来吧”，比如：

　　Roll on Christmas! I'm looking forward to all the good food!

　　快来吧，圣诞节!我可盼着那些好吃的呢!

　　Roll on five o'clock when I can go home!

　　快点到五点钟吧，那我就可以回家了!

　　Long-lost指“遗失了很长时间的”，歌词中的long lost friend就是指久未联系的朋友。

　　Bitter end表示“最后痛苦的结局”。比如：

　　In spite of the unpleasant scenes in the movie, they stayed until the bitter end.

　　虽然电影的镜头令人讨厌，他们还是坚持到看完。
