　　东方卫视日前起用了一位新的气象预报员。

　　The newbie takes no vacations or holidays. She'snever late to work and never stumbles on air. Ofcourse, it's easy to be the star employee whenyou're really a robot.

　　这位新员工不会休假或者拥有假期。她也从不迟到，从不会犯错。当然，当你真的是一个机器人的时候，你很容易能够成为明星员工。

　　When the anchor on "Morning News" needs aweather report, he introduces Xiaoice, a computerprogram that delivers the forecast with a female voice.

　　当东方卫视的《看东方》节目需要插播天气预报时，主持人向观众介绍了小冰。她是一款计算机程序，可以用女性的声音播报天气。

　　TV viewers are shown a shot of an empty TV studio, while weather graphics on a screenaugment Xiaoice's forecast. Xiaoice will even remind viewers to bundle up when it's cold, andcautions against outdoor exercise when the air quality is bad.

　　电视观众看到的画面是空无一人的直播间，屏幕上显示着配合小冰播报的天气图表。小冰还会在天气冷时提醒观众多穿点，在空气质量差时告诫观众少进行户外运动。

　　Xiaoice originated as a creation of Microsoft's artificial intelligence team in China. Xiaoice'stelevision appearances began in December, in a deal with Microsoft that Dragon TV called a one-year internship for Xiaoice.

　　小冰是由中国的微软人工智能团队研发的。她是在12月份开始在电视上出现的，在与微软的协议中，东方卫视同意为小冰提供为期一年的实习。

　　The chatbot could get an expanded role on Dragon TV as a commentator on news features oron an entertainment talk show.

　　据悉，这款聊天机器人有可能在东方卫视发挥更大的作用，比如担任新闻节目或娱乐脱口秀的评论员。
